Found 20 light years away: the New Earth

It's got the same climate as Earth, plus water and gravity. A newly discovered planet is the most stunning evidence that life - just like us - might be out there. Above a calm, dark ocean, a huge, bloated red sun rises in the sky - a full ten times the size of our Sun as seen from Earth. Small waves lap at a sandy shore and on the beach, something stirs...

Gigantic Belgian Monster Cows

Originating in 19th century Belgium by crossing local cattle with British cattle, the Belgian Blue cattle are gigantic bovine wonders. Their enormous size and muscle mass, sometimes called "double muscling," is a naturally occurring mutation of the gene for myostatin, a protein that regulates muscle growth. This mutation results in accelerated lean muscle growth.

The Scariest Movie Characters Under 5 Feet Tall

I’m not the biggest fan of horror movies, however I can certainly appreciate when a director and writer can really scare the crap out of us movie goers. Personally I don’t really get scared from gore or pus or anything like that. What really freaks me out is when you take something innocent or even cute and turn it into something that goes completely rampant. And

7 Ancient Wonders of Green Design & Technology

We have come a long way since humans first used biomass fuels for their fires over 800,000 years ago. Green design, sustainable innovation, alternative energy – these are all recently-coined buzz-phrases for concepts that in some cases date back tens of thousands of years. The ancient Chinese used concentrated solar power for heat energy and fire, Native Americans used hot springs as

The Greatest Custom Action Figures Ever Made

When I was a kid, one of my biggest passions was action figures! I was a total G.I. Joe freak, and until today, whenever I see a cool action figure, and just drool over it. But John Mallamas has took action figures custom making to a whole other level. Think custom actions figures made by a guy just like you, but make this guy the Da Vinci of action figures. Now you get a picture of whom

Ninja Assassin Red-Band Trailer

One of the noticeable things about most of the stuff we’ve seen from Ninja Assassin so far is the lack of explicit blood-spilling. The movie still looks badass, but I’ve been wondering if it has been toned-down for the trailers, to be viewable by a more general audience. Well, with this latest red-band trailer blood splatter has ceased to be a worry.

The Best Ads of Autumn 2009

Advertisements have to be creative. After all, it’s their job to not only grab your attention, but motivate you to do something (generally to spend your money). That creative nature means that ads often feature some of the most interesting photographs, photomanipulations, and illustrations available. Here are my top picks for the best ads of Autumn 2009.
